Dave Aspray is back on his bullsh* đź’© | What the Fitness | Biolayne

He’s claiming spinach, nuts, potatoes, raspberries, green tea, dark chocolate, etc. are “toxic” because of oxalates/lectins that supposedly crystallize in your body and wreck your thyroid.
Let’s check the science 👇
âś… Overall health effects: Diets higher in fruits/veg and nuts are linked to lower all-cause & CVD mortality (PMID: 28338764, PMID: 27916000).
âś… Oxalates: In people with normal kidney function, oxalate from foods is handled/excreted; the main at-risk group is known calcium-oxalate stone formers (PMID: 30566003).
âś… Lectins: Normal cooking (soaking/boiling) inactivates lectins in legumes and similar foods (PMID: 34829077).
ℹ️ Thyroid “crystals”: Calcium oxalate crystals are a common benign autopsy finding in thyroid colloid (seen in ~70–80% of adults). That’s not evidence your diet is “crystallizing your body” or causing pain (PMID: 2435146, PMID: 8506623).
Bottom line: Your spinach smoothie and handful of nuts aren’t killing you. Fear-mongering is.
